The Boardroom Show

October 11, 2017

Several club members attended the Boardroom Show (formerly called Sacred Craft) at the Kaiser Permanente Arena on October 9-10, 2016 to check out the shapers, boards, and everything else surf. The show featured board shaping demonstrations/competitions among local well-known shapers and honored John Mel, longtime Santa Cruz shaper and founding member of SCLU.

Our own Matt Micuda gave a board taping demonstration and made it look a lot easier than it is. We talked Jeff Clark into loaning the club what we nicknamed “The Fin” (which is apparently actually called the Quantum Fin). If you didn’t get a chance to demo it before its demise, you missed out (according to Quentin, Sarah, and Quinn—Jane wasn’t convinced).
